  • June: A 10-year old’s mind full of innocence, and a home invaded by fear, watches her brother transform when he leaves for a tour of duty.

  • Jack: A young American soldier’s mind full of goodwill, suffers from PTSD and a journey that seems to bring only heartbreak.

  • Ameena: A young Syrian woman’s mind full of words, and a new country that seems impossible to map. All collide in this powerful and timely musical.

In an unfamiliar land (America), Ameena’s family and life implode around her. Full of defiance she tries to claim her place in this new world. Back from several tours of duty, Jack’s world is devoid of purpose and plagued by flashbacks. Full of guilt and a sense of duty, his good intentions become a curse as their lives are intertwined. But it is Jack’s little sister June who watches it all from the shadows of their anxious mother, as a seed of fear is sown.

Cultures and hearts are put to the test as their experiences lead them to better understandings and on a path towards a better future.

"A wake-up call for a divided America"
